Our every-other-Tuesday call provides our national union a place to organize around crucial issues. We have focused on methadone, COVID-19, prison and police abolition--any issue that our union feels needs our immediate organizing attention. Advocacy Academy

Advocacy Academy is designed to provide the knowledge and tools directly-impacted activists need to successfully advocate for their marginalized communities. Each week, advocates present on their areas of expertise and workshop professional skills that aid in advocacy work. All are welcome to attend, but due to confidentiality guidelines we need participants to sign up with Aly at aly@ncsunion.org. Please note that this call requires GoToWebinar software.

Methadone Mondays

We believe methadone access is lifesaving. In response to COVID-19, we organized a response to allow methadone patients access to medication via take-homes, preventing them from having to go to crowded clinics daily during a time of mandated social distancing. As restrictions were lifted, we shifted our focus to researching what happened to people with take-homes and exploring how to keep rights we gained. We are also working on enumerating patient rights.
